The day begins with delegates locked in informal negotiations, so it is likely that I will not be able to report much today because I have to fly back to Edinburgh.

Word in the hallways is that there were closed negotiations well into the night yesterday on topics such as technology transfer, but there has not been an agreement in some of the most controversial topics. I am hoping that CDIP/5/6 will be approved before lunch, as it is the least controversial of all the proposals, yet has been infuriatingly difficult to reach an agreement even in something as basic as that.

The work resumes just before lunch with the election of two vice-chairs, and now they are discussing CDIP/5/6 again, it looks like it will be approved before lunch, but I must go and catch a plane, so this will be my last update from Geneva. More coming in the next days.
