I loved this version of the BSD open source licence in rhyme so much that I thought I would have to reproduce it here.

NOTE: The author does not like the poem to be reproduced anywhere other than in his page (the poem is ironically posted with All Rights Reserved). One of my biggest pet-peeves is when open source advocates become proprietary when the chips are down.

ETA: The author explains why the licence is under all rights reserved:

“The original is OSI-approved, but the verse version certainly is not, and so should not be used for software. To make sure that does not become the case, I retain all copyright rights for now.”

Fair enough, but it still seems ironic that a free licence is adapted into an all rights reserved work.

ETA 2: The story has been picked up by French site Numerama.
