I bought the Panasonic BD60 Blu-ray a few weeks ago. I can't say enough good things about it. I haven't had any problems with freezing up or anything like some of the people in the reviews have stated. I would definitely recommend hooking this player up to the internet. I love the youtube feature on it. It has already been upgraded to include Amazon.com movie rentals. Picasa access is also very nice. I highly recommend this. Amazon was cheaper by $50 than anywhere else. Buy and enjoy.

Hi Bob,

Funny you should say that. I have a SuSE partition on my HD, and the problem is the same there. Blu-ray has not been cracked, so as far as I can tell there are no licensed players for Linux.

I take it you've crippled your machine with a proprietary operating system, festooned and riddled with license agreements, none of which you've read. Like most people.

Do yourself a favour. Wait until the next Ubuntu release later this month. Torrent the 9.10 iso, and burn a disc (if you can). You will marvel at the speed of linux. You will also marvel at the fact that all your components and peripherals work.
